-Sponsor legislation allowing individuals to lease solar power systems.
-Employ Polk and Osceola County residents to build, maintain and operate these systems.

Solar power may be just the fix we need in the "sunshine" State. From my limited research, it appears the State of Florida currently does not enable individuals to lease solar power panels. If it did, all that choose could have affordable access to this renewable energy source. The way it should work is there are no upfront costs to acquire the solar panels. The excess energy generated is sold on the public electric grid which helps cover part, if not all, the cost of the leased panels. More importantly, as individual homes install these solar panels, it creates immediate jobs! According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, some of the jobs created by the solar industry include electricians, plumbers, pipefitters and roofers. These are skills many Floridians have and can be used right now!
